REGGAETON

Reggaeton is a musical genre that emerged in the early 2000s, and has its origins in music from the Caribbean. The sound comes from Reggae, drawing its sonic elements from Jamaican hip-hop and dancehall, and popularizing as Reggaeton.

After its commercial explosion in 2004, the genre spread to the South American, European and Asian continents. One of the first international successes of Reggaeton: Papi Chulo, hit of the summer of 2003, will become one of the five best successes in France. Reggaeton is very popular in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Florida, and New York…

Singers such as Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Tito El Bambino…have allowed this genre to develop and conquer the world. Since then, reggaeton titles have topped the charts: Nicky Jam (El Pardon). Luis Fonsi (Despacito). Enrique Iglesias (Subémé the radio). Shakira (Chantaje and Perro fiel). CNCO (Reggaeton lento bailemos).
