Puerto Rican salsa, also called “Mambo” in New York or Puerto Rico, appeared in France at the end of the 90s. It derives directly from the mambo of the 50s.

Figures in couple and displacements are done on a dance line between the dancer and the dancer.

Puerto Rican salsa is a soft and sensual dance that aesthetically is closer to ballroom dancing.
